About Me

I live and work in DFW as a harpist and orchestral conductor. 

Biography

Alexandra is a harpist and orchestral conductor located in North Texas. She began her music career as a harpist. While completing her Bachelor of Music degree in harp performance (Washburn University, 2017) she also took an interest in conducting and score studies. Soon after her undergraduate degree, she went to study orchestral conducting at Missouri State University under Dr. Christopher Kelts. While completing her conducting studies, she continued to play harp for the Missouri State University Symphonic Orchestra, the Missouri Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Kansas City Civic Orchestra, among others. She graduated with her Master of Music degree (Missouri State University, 2020). She then worked at Drury University in Springfield, Missouri from 2020 to 2023, directing the orchestra and teaching other music classes. During that time, she also served as the Orchestra Director for the Ozark Festival Orchestra in Monett, Missouri. After leaving Missouri, Alexandra taught at Holy Family High School in Broomfield, Colorado. Throughout her musical journey, Alexandra has taught private piano and harp lessons to young students, as teaching is one of her passions.

As a harpist, Alexandra has performed with orchestras in Kansas, Missouri, and Colorado. She participated in a performance at the American Harp Society National Conference (Atlanta, 2016) and works as a faculty member at the Elyrica Harp Workshop in CT in summer (2021, 2023, and 2024). 

 

Alexandra is currently a doctoral student at the University of North Texas, working on a Doctorate of Musical Arts degree in Orchestral Conducting. She teaches private piano and harp lessons in the Denton area and also works as a wedding/event and orchestral harpist and freelance conductor.  as well as working with various symphonies, and working as a conductor. Most recently, Alexandra will be guest conducting the Plano Symphony Orchestra in Plano, TX, this spring.
